Divided thoughts spoken, behind enemy lines
Irreversible words spoken, without knowing the times
Individual hate spewed, without a second of thought
Irreversible words said, whether they’re wanted or not
An entire nation divided, on one traditional breath
One that cares more about color, than it does life or death
This plague isn’t enough, for us to fix what we are
We’re not built upon freedom, but upon our ancestors scars
How have we come this far, how are we part of this youth
That’s been told we’re divided, we’re so far from the truth
How can we still believe, there’s such a difference in
Bound to the present, looking forward to the future, while the past rears it’s head in unsettling ways
Giving forth to what comforts, letting go what is real, letting history replay like we’re caught in some kind of daze
Open eyes see what’s happening, closed eyes see what they want
Some beg for an answer, while the rest of us taunt
We all pray for an end but if we do nothing to help, then we all pray for an end to destroy ourselves
A thorn perched on the stem, of a bright petaled rose
Violent storms speak in languages, that no one knows
Faint whispers of sarcasm, adrift in the tone
If there is no together, then we’re all left alone
Long histories built in silence, forgotten and cold
We only start young, so we can slowly grow old
There’s too much time for the timid, yet not enough for the bold
Let go of the past, and let the future unfold
We tell tales of the wicked, to enlighten those of the pure
We’re told there’s a balance, but there’s no way to be sure
The world has a cancer, there’s so much hope for a cure
But for now we reside,
Her cold lifeless stare
Shines an ominous glow
That beckons me forward
Death becomes me
Those brave enough to approach
This figure
Of black wrapped in gold
Find that their fortune
Hides the hallows
Of their demise
Skin of silvery white
Lips of pale lifeless pink
An omen of death
Perched tenaciously
On her finger tip
It screeches and caws
At me
As if to tell me
My time is running thin
But it know nothing
I search to find meaning, in the tragedies I behold
It’s like I’m longing for the ending, of a story never told
But as the pages keep turning, a new life will unfold
As I form this fresh clay, into an imperfect mold
The truth can’t be hidden, or forgotten at all
There’s more to life to remember, than the times that I fall
I must show them my might, I’ve got to stand tall
But before I can walk, I have to learn how to crawl
These feeling can cut deep, and out they will pour
I have to open the next, before I close the last door
As life passes by, I must remember this more
That before my last breath, they will all

The Face of An Angel
If I close my eyes and look in my heart, I can see your precious face
It’s perfect features are a memory, I would never want erased
But that memory burns me to the core, my heart bleeds with every beat
The grief I’ve felt since you left my side, is like a song stuck on repeat
Sometimes I wake and feel you there, watching over from above
Sometimes I dream of you at peace, flying freely like a dove
Some days it’s like I cannot move, or can’t cope with how I feel
Each day I wish it’s all a dream, and this pain just isn’t real
But I know your gone and the pain is fierce, it will never go away
It’s a cross
The words fell so softly
Into my ear
To delicately to hear
For those not ready
To listen
"Leave this place, make no return"
They spoke to me
Calmly
But I danced
To a more selective tune
What I am today
I will not be tomorrow
Their vision of me now
They shall remember
But tomorrow
I present a new stranger
A man born from fantasy
Bred from noble stock
They shall shower me
In praises
As I lighten their purses
With Gods wings
On my shoulders
I'll reap my rewards
I'll be the king of their brothels
They shall beg me for more
I'll write scripts
Filled with glory
Satire and despair alike
They’ll come from lands
Far and near

A Life Worth Living
My life as a whole, seemed pointless at first
My shallow existence, almost felt like a curse
So there I remained, like a lump on a log
What use could the world have, for an insignificant frog
But then something occurred , at the brink of sunrise
The light pierced through the woods, it shined into my eyes
I heard a beautiful voice, blowing soft through the trees
It was the great Mother Nature, and she was singing to me
Her words melted me like butter, on the inside and out
As she sang of a life, this world could not live without
She chimed the Earth's secrets, she gave my life meaning
It dawned on me then, she was the light I was seeing

The faint whispers of beauty
That one lasting kiss that
Reminds me of a better day
When the darkness was cast away by the glory
Of sunshine
I long to be a part of
That story full of wonderment
The one we tell our children
To save them
From the plague of nightmares
The one that begins with hardship
But ends with happiness
I long to be saved from
The ugliness the world holds
The evil consuming innocence
That one little voice
Whispering in a demons tone

I long to forget

And without you I am broken, I've been grieving for a while
I long to have you in my arms, and awaken to your cries
It's hard to think about you now, it brings tears to my eyes
But none the less I dwell on you, caressing thoughts within my mind
Of the joy and laughter we could have, if I was never left behind
Sometimes life just isn't fair, sometimes heartache never heals
Some days I'm left to wonder, will this be the way I'll always feel
I turn my head to mask the sorrow, I hide my eyes to blind the pain
The illusion that your still here, makes me feel like I'm insane

Lies From The Mouth Of A Serpent
All the words you said
Blatantly defying truth
Best left unspoken
Empty promises
Slithering out of your mouth
Best left in silence
Thoughts fueled by hatred
Provoking the innocent
Best left locked away

The only way to save us
From being consumed
